My Networks

Gary Reid on LinkedIn Gary Reid on XING

My networking online is somewhat similar to my offline networking, haphazard. I'm generally not the one you see shaking everyone's hand and doling out business cards, I take a more careful approach to creating business relationships. Having said that if you are a kindred spirit (in the business sense) feel free to add me at LinkedIn, Facebook or Xing.

My Blogging

Because of time constraints I don't blog as much as I'd like but you can read my blogging here at Kitchen 2.0. I am also in the process of starting a blog network at PeerPlink

My Twitter account has been neglected of late, but I hope to be twittering again soon.

My Travels

Three Things

  1. Control costs, sometimes they are the only thing you can control!
  2. People don't buy from you because you wear a nice suit, arrive in a big, expensive car and travel first class. People buy from you because they trust you, like you, understand you, believe you and can see you love what you do.
  3. Understand strategy. Strategy is simple, it's a mix of opportunity and capability. There are countless opportunities, it doesn't mean you have the capability to exploit them for profit or that you should even try.

Some of the people I've met over the last few years who I think you might find interesting, contact met colleague Mike Butcher Mike Butcher is editor of techcrunch UK and always gives a straight forward, honest opinion about Web 2.0. contact met colleague Adrianne George Adrianne George 'the gift of gab and a networking diva' (her words). contact met colleague Kevin Leversee Kevin Leversee where is he now? contact met colleague Amanda Lorenzani Amanda Lorenzani works over at Excite and is a great blogger. friend met shona kitchen Shona Kitchen, designer, artist, architect, all round genius. friend met Amy Jurries Amy Jurries, a friendly face in the world of VC. friend met Caroline Vogt Caroline Vogt, Head of International Research for Microsoft and has done some interesting research on social media marketing. friend met Richard Gale Richard Gale, Director of European Marketing & Sales at Playboy who gave a great insight into Playboy's social network at Internet World London 2007.

About This Page

This page is an attempt to build upon the initial work done by Rohit Bhargava, it is experimental but adds Microformats to the bio in an attempt to start thinking how Web 3.0 can have benefits for your social identity on the web and how we can make use of services such as Pingerati.
